TEST- Chapter 9 The Constitution: A More Perfect Union


Our Chapter test will be on Friday Feb 18th, don't wait until the last minute to study!
This is a difficult chapter to understand, you have a week and a half to ask, learn, and remember.

Homework- February 7-11, 2011

MONDAY-Which Part is which sheet-finish outlining the Constitution sheet-Current Event

TUESDAY-The Make up of Congress sheet

WEDNESDAY- Which House is Which sheet

THURSDAY-Read Sections 7-9 of Chapter 9 (pages 127-129), write 5 facts from each section for a total of 15 Facts

FRIDAY-NONE (But you should begin studying for the test next Friday!)

Homework: Week of Jan 31-Feb.4


Monday- Jan 31: Finish ratification map and chart. CURRENT EVENT!

Tuesday-Feb 1: Memorize the PREAMBLE, Do the Preamble worksheet, be sure to study the vocab words on the sheet-HINT-there may be a pop quiz!

Wednesday-Feb 2: Read and take notes on Chapter 9.1, and 9.2

Thursday-Feb 3: There are 11 Blue Words in Chapter 9, Define each word and use them in a sentence.

Chapter 9 The Constitution: A More Perfect Union

We begin studying the Constitution this week with the Ratification Game, (the order in which the states ratified the "law of the land").
We will learn how the Constitution created a government based on the principles of separation of powers and checks and balances.
Objectives:
  • identify the members, terms of office, and powers of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
  • describe the system of checks and balances.
  • explain the system of shared powers between the states and the federal government.
We will be learning about each of the parts of the Constitution-
If you want to get a head start- Memorize the Preamble!

The Constitution ensures that power is shared between the states and te national government in a system known as federalism!
